My story

Building Living Greece is a family enterprise which aims to ease the relocation of anyone wishing or planning to move to Greece.  

Starting a new step in life in a different country means an-round learning experience: living among new neighbors with their native language, in a climate which may be remarkably different and adapting to new cultural codes.

 

Our experiences, both the bitter and the better ones, gave us the idea to establish an enterprise which offers personal service, honest advice and accompaniment for others who would like to move to Greece and avoid repeating our costly mistakes.  Those services can be provided for either purchase of an existing or building of a new house or holiday home. We accompany you from the very beginning and literally until you have the new keys in your hand and all is ready.

 

Daniel and I, Neta , moved to Greece in summer 2020.

Five years earlier we bought a plot in a small village near Pylos  in Messinia with a plan to build a new home in a rural place. We desired to live in peace and serenity and to integrate with the surrounding in our olive trees all around.

The proceeding of the building was unexpectedly difficult.

Unfairness, lack of reliable time tables and difficulties finding the right professionals and workers (due to the fact that many businesses do not have a website), are a few examples of the obstacles we faced. We lost money, time and hope. 

 

After more than three years we decided to finish the building of the house by ourselves instead of relying on our previous unreliable contractor. From that point of crisis we began to see the light again. Good feelings and hope were renewing in our heart while the hurt was reduced. We found nice people with whom we could finish the house.
